All 3 Stimulus Checks — History & Eligibility Guide

Between 2020 and 2021, the federal government sent out three rounds of Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) totaling up to $3,200 per adult and $2,500 per child. If you didn't receive all payments you were owed, you may still claim them as the Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC) on your federal tax return.

The deadline to claim missed stimulus payments is April 15, 2025 (via an amended 2021 tax return). After that date, unclaimed payments are permanently forfeited.

Stimulus FAQ 2025

No. There is no federally-approved 4th stimulus check as of February 2025. Some states have sent their own relief payments (California MCTR, Colorado TABOR refunds), but these are state programs, not federal stimulus. Beware of scam websites claiming otherwise.
Yes — SSI and SSDI recipients were eligible for all three rounds and received them automatically via the same payment method as their benefits (direct deposit or Direct Express card). If you didn't receive them, file your 2020/2021 tax return to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit.
No. Stimulus / Economic Impact Payments are excluded from income for SNAP, Medicaid, and SSI purposes. They also don't count as resources for the month received and for 12 months after for SSI.
